World of Carvings was founded and is run by Heerco Walinga.

Heerco originates from Holland and has been living in (Northern) Ireland since 1986.

It was in 2011, that he discovered the hidden secret of the superb craftsmanship of the people of the Indonesian island of Bali.

For generations tourism has been a main source of income for the people of Bali and because of the lack of any heavy industry, people took to handmade craft to sell as souvenirs to tourists.

As with craft anywhere in the world, the skills of carving were soon transferred from father to son and so a highly skilled and creative artistic craft industry developed.

All our products are sourced from suppliers that are certified Fair Traders, recognised by The British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers.

We do not have a shop but you can find us in Shopping Malls and at outdoor events.
